I’ve officially made it to the end of the first year of the doc program. It has been a long year, but a good one and I’m so glad to have a bit of a break this summer. Initial grades are in and it looks like I did as well as I wanted in all my classes. I’m still waiting for the qualitative grade to be posted, but I’m confident that we did very well on our final paper.
In other news, the weight loss continues. I’m still at about 155- hoping to see a bigger loss this weekend. By the end of June I would like to be in the 140’s. Getting into the 140’s will be a fairly major milestone for me because that’s right about where I was in high school. I haven’t been this healthy in a long time and I’m looking forward to losing the last 20 or so pounds.
Our new cat Magnus has been great. We decided not to declaw him because he has been so good in the house- he hasn’t scratched anything yet, not even the carpet! We found out we didn’t have to have him neutered because he was already neutered, why the SPCA didn’t know this we have no idea, but we are happy because it ends up costing us a whole lot less! He has done really well meeting Oscar and Jinx. Jinx is a pain in the butt, but she always has been so that’s nothing new. She actually is tolerating him quite well. Oscar doesn’t care, and Magnus seems to really like that. Overall this has been a very smooth integration and it seems like we picked a really great cat. Here’s a picture of the Magster chilling out on our coffee table.
