This is Magnus

He is settling into his new home. He has done quite well so far- no scratching, no urine marking (which is pretty amazing considering he isn’t neutered yet and is a young adult cat!), he’s even tidy about his litter box!
So tonight, Jered and I are sitting down stairs with Oscar on the sofa… and who do we see coming into the living room? Magnus. He somehow found a way to open the bedroom door and decided he wanted to hang out with us downstairs. Our plan has been to keep all of the animals separated from Magnus until after his surgery so he has some time to get used to our house, us etc. We wanted to wait until after his surgery to introduce him to Oscar and Jinx, but that introduction happened tonight. Oscar was very excited and wanted to jump down right away, but we played it safe and Jered held onto Oscar while I went and fixed a PB kong. We quickly put Oscar in the downstairs bathroom with a baby gate and maneuvered ourselves between Jinx and Magnus. Jinx was surprisingly calm and Magnus turned around and walked away to give Jinx some space. They both met again on the other side of the kitchen bar… their tails were pretty puffy so we were a little afraid they might start fighting, but I went and got Jinx some food and she started purring away. Magnus was a little scared, but he stood his ground and stuck around! We took Magnus back upstairs so that the interaction would end as well as it started. He is back in our bedroom and the door latch is now fixed so hopefully he won’t sneak out without us knowing again!!! Luckily the first meet and greet went much better than we thought it would. It seems that Magnus is going to fit right in!
