The trip to Kansas City was great. We had a wonderful visit with Jered’s family. His sister graduated with her BS in Nursing and we were able to be there for her pinning ceremony, baccalaureate mass and graduation ceremony. The weather was warm and sunny and most of Jered’s family was there. It was so nice to be there for Joanna’s graduation. She is getting married in July and we were able to meet her fiancee’s family for the first time. Our trip out went smoothly with only a minor delay on the front end leaving Newport News. We got to go shopping while in KC and both got some great new work clothes thanks to Jered’s mom.

It was so nice to get out of town and to be with family for a while. I forgot how much I missed being around Jered’s side of the family. It will be great to go back later this summer. Jered and I didn’t really count points all weekend so I gained about a pound. I’m not too bummed about it because I really didn’t want to be obsessing about points on such an eventful weekend. I didn’t go overboard but I definitely didn’t really think about what I was eating. I expected more of a gain but when I weighed in this morning I was only at 158.2, not too bad for a pretty much free for all weekend.

The school semester is almost over- I just have one more short paper to write and one big paper to finish editing and turn in. The class I’m teaching starts next Monday so I won’t have too much of a break, but it will be good to not have a bunch of coursework to focus on myself! My mini goal is to be around 140 by the wedding in mid July, so I’m hoping to really refocus my weight loss efforts with more exercise and lots of healthy veggie-filled meals.
