Hurray- the first 20 pounds is gone! I did really well this week and weighed in at 156.9- a loss of 2.1 pounds. I think the first week of vegetarianism might be paying off! We had a couple of delicious veggie dinners- we’ve been doing portabellos on the grill, steamed mixed veggies, fresh bread, mac and cheese, beans…lots of good food. I hardly miss the meat (except yesterday when we went to Lowes to buy a planter and walked by the Dominic’s stand…that steak smelled so darn good!).
Yesterday we relaxed, went to the farmer’s market in the morning and bought fresh herbs to plant in the garden, another tomato plant and a bunch of collard greens that I made for dinner last night. Later in the afternoon after some gardening, collard preparing and bread baking, we headed over to my mom’s house to help her out with some computer issues. When we got home we watched Babel, which we’ve had from Netflix for at least 10 days. It was very good- but a bit of a downer for a Saturday evening, good thing we watched Monty Python’s Life of Brian immediately following. Yesterday was my 1 day off this week- I’m taking this morning and early afternoon off too, but today at 4 I’m headed up to Williamsburg for a group meeting- qualitative project is still in the works! I’m hoping we can get a good bit of the writing over and done with before Jered and I leave for Kansas City this week.
Here’s to another good week- My mini goal was to be around 155 by our trip- I’m almost there!

I think Dominic’s smells good because it’s the onions, not the meat. They are constantly sauteeing onions.
